Student youth in the light of the challenges of modern society: aspects of spiritual and moral maturity

The article touches upon the problem of spiritual and moral education and the development of students, related to the different estimation of values in modern society. Deformation and adaptation of a number of fundamental spiritual and moral tenets to individual goals is marked as one of the main problems of modern society. The main task of modern pedagogical education is determined according to the national security strategy of the Russian Federation and the patristic experience. The analysis of acceptability of the “anti-value” lie in the worldview of modern students was made on the basis of the survey, and the patterns of its appearance and development are highlighted. The main causes of progressive moral and spiritual degradation are indicated. A comparative analysis is carried out from theological and philosophical positions to determine the level of secularization of society and its spirituality. Recommendations on principles and methods of educational programs implementation are given. The necessity of the missionary activity of the Russian Orthodox Church, associated with the spiritual and moral development of students, is proved.
