The coronavirus pandemic has had a tremendous impact on the processes in the global economy. Disruption of logistics supply chains, bankruptcy of small and medium-sized businesses, and job cuts are among the most obvious diagnoses of the coronavirus crisis. However, against the background of global processes, there are regional specifics of problems caused by the pandemic, which is reflected, among other things, in the subjective well-being of the regional community. The paper is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of the subjective well-being of the population. The sample includes 1,500 people surveyed in 8 districts of the Vologda Oblast and two major cities - Vologda and Cherepovets. The study presents a brief review of the literature devoted to the problem of subjective well-being. Such issues as the economic theory of happiness, happiness index and terminal values are touched upon. Self-assessment of monetary income, self-identification, the mood of the population, the material status of society, and the level of approval of the region’s governor’s performance were analyzed as subjective indicators. In the work were used economic and sociological methods. The study is based on the materials of official statistics and the monitoring results of RAS Vologda Research Center.
