The subjective approach to the study of the population’s quality of life at the municipal level

The paper discusses the researches on the subjective assessment of the population’s quality of life in the Olkhonsky district of Irkutsk region. The relevance of the study on the population’s life quality at the municipal level is due to the fact that it is possible to manage and increase the quality of life at this level. The opinions of the population are to be considered while designing the programs for social and economic development of the territory. The research presents the results of the population survey conducted in 2016. The questionnaire consisted of three parts to be reviewed: the quality of the environment, the population’s quality of life, and the area of economic development of the municipality. The responses show the nationwide and region-wide trends, as well as the specific features that are typical for the region under review. The author notes that it is important to take into account the views of the local population regarding the quality of life and the prospects for the development of the territory.
