Subjective structure of Novosibirsk regional newspapers: a comparative analysis of publications with different level of popularity

The article demonstrates an attempt to find the answer to the question of what distinguishes a local newspaper, which attracts readers, and newspaper, which cannot reach out to the audience, cannot capture reader`s attention. On the basis of data on the circulation and the ratio of circulation and the residents of a district of Novosibirsk region two «popular» and two «unpopular» editions were revealed. The content analysis helped to discover subjective structure of the district publications, including the following main components 1) those who are mentioned in the text or the main hero 2) those who write - the author. Among the identified groups of subjects, as the characters are: the officials of administrations at different levels, employees of various organizations, ordinary people who are mentioned in publications casually, main characters, who are the main focus in the text. The authors are employees of the editorial, published from issue to issue; the authors are officials, authors, whose signatures indicate the position, ordinary citizens as authors, and the press service. Comparison of quantified indicators for groups of factors allowed to identify a number of indicators which are characteristic of «popular» and «unpopular» editions.
