Subcultural differentiation of the modern urban environment

Бесплатный доступ

The article deals with the features of developing urban subcultural associations, approaches of scientists to the typology of urban subcultures, legislative acts on rights of citizens to establish public associations, possible sources of contradictions in relations of members of different subcultural formations, and difficulties of administrative institutions in work with their representatives. We have analyzed the origins of urban culture heterogeneity, which are complemented by the processes that occur on a global scale characterized by two mutually reinforcing tendencies - integration and diversification. Integration tendencies of urban culture that form a global mass culture are considered, their diversification leads to a growing diversity of specific cultural communities, both territorially defined and geographically dispersed.
