Forensic examinations in the investigation of extremist manifestations

The spread of extremist crime is noted, which acquires an organized character, groups around the leaders of the criminal hierarchy, attracts technical and personnel potential to its side. In such circumstances, investigative authorities are required to develop forensic methods for investigating manifestations of extremism based on scientific and technical knowledge. In the aspect of the investigative and judicial direction of the implementation of anti-criminal policy, the modern possibilities of forensic examinations in the investigation of manifestations of extremism are investigated. The possibilities of forensic examinations, as well as examinations of the humanitarian class, are considered. Their importance for establishing the circumstances to be proved during the investigation is shown. The author’s expertise solves the identification (individual and group) task regarding works of extremist content, as well as the diagnosis of extremist meanings in the text of leaflets, posters, brochures and other documents. The possibilities of video engineering, phonoscopic, computer-technical expertise in solving identification and diagnostic investigation tasks are shown. Their objects are information materials distributed on social networks, which is relevant for the tasks of investigating verbal crimes. The possibilities of historical expertise are related to the investigation of the facts of the rehabilitation of Nazism and other manifestations of extremism related to historical events. Manifestations of political extremism become objects of political science expertise. It is joined by a religious studies examination, based on the results of which it is possible to conduct an investigation of manifestations of religious extremism. Art objects and cultural actions with extremist content are investigated by cultural studies. Basically, the diagnostic task of establishing the extremist orientation of the presented objects is being solved. The possibilities of forensic linguistic and psychological examinations are considered in a complex, and their preventive value is shown. The issues of overcoming counteraction to the investigation of manifestations of extremism are investigated. The place of forensic examinations in tactical operations to overcome such opposition has been determined. The conclusion is made about the effectiveness of a comprehensive forensic study of an extremist personality, appeals, documented actions, and other objects of extremist content. The anti-extremist significance of forensic examinations is confirmed by examples from investigative and judicial practice.
