Suicide as a dominant feature of the existence of modern society

A wide range of issues related to the nature of suicide and its understanding by specialists in various fields of knowledge is analyzed . It is concluded that the main cause of suicide is the loss by a person (absence, disbelief in the existence) of the meaning of life,-existential frustration . The point of view is substantiated that the dominant civilization model, based on the constant growth of consumption of material goods, in every possible way contributes to the reproduction and maintenance of existential frustration, distracts people from the search for and awareness of the strategic goal of life . Thus, the ideological meaninglessness of life is recorded at the individual-personal and social levels, a suicidal tendency is produced and consolidated in society . The conclusion is substantiated that the senseless waste of life time, this invaluable human resource, on the permanent accumulation and consumption of material goods is a global suicidal tendency (dominant) of modern society .
