The article reviews the suicide problem among personnel of criminal executive system of Russian Federation who are prone to increased suicide risk due to their job responsibilities. The problem in question indicates an objective need to study the phenomena at a deeper level. The aim of the analysis is to define specific particularities and indicate main determinants of suicide committed by criminal executive system employees and to further develop recommendations on optimizing general and private prevention of their suicides. Materials and methods: The study employed the following materials: 1) departmental statistics; 2) information from special cards that are filled in in case of suicide or attempted suicide; 3) conclusion on results of service checks run after suicide; 4) inspection and control checks materials. While working on the review digital, interval, nominal and rank data was analyzed on the personnel who committed suicide during their service time. The results of the work are the following: generalized social characteristics of a criminal executive system employee who committed suicide; identifying common typical mistakes in suicide prevention in certain departments activity; measures that would allow to reduce the number of employees lost to suicide annually. For example, it is stated that in the last 5 years (2012-2016) the number of suicides among criminal executive system employees have reached: 45 case in 2012, 23 cases in 2013, 23 case in 2014, 25 cases in 2015, and in 2016 it counted 0,12 for every 1000 people. A generalized portrait of a criminal executive system employee who committed suicide in 2016 is drawn - it is a man of 34 years of age, most probably involved with security department, somewhat overeducated for his position, employed for about 8 years in the field and about 3 years in the position, married, having children, positively characterized in the job, without penalties, non-conflict, organized, not in a risk group, not seeking psychological help, having family issues who he is not inclined to discuss with others, seeming calm and committing suicide on a spring morning by hanging. The attention is drawn to the fact that though the suicide dynamics among criminal executive system employees is positive, it is still unstable and demands strengthening of preventive measure by HR and psychological departments (of 23 suicide committers in 2016 only 1 employee regularly received psychological help because of his low stress resistance, and all other suicide cases were described as difficult to predict with 6 of them being committed under unclear circumstances. The conclusion is made that there is a possibility to decrease further the number of suicides among criminal executive system personnel through measures of general and individual prevention that the authors of the review propose.
