Suicidal attempts: men and women

The issues of accounting for suicidal attempts in men and women are discussed. Based on the analysis of literature data, it is shown that the number of attempts in the female population is not so high. The ratio of men and women among those who have committed suicide is significantly lower than predicted by WHO experts. On average, for one attempt in men, there are 1.2 attempts in women (ratio - M : W - 1 : 1.2). The authors point out that suicidal behavior of men and women has significant differences in predictors, forms and clinical manifestations. This requires differentiation in the development of preventive measures and the organization of care.
