Suprachoroidal implantation biodegradable polimeric material «MM-gel», as a drug-releasing implant (experimental trials)

On 18 «shinshilla» rabbits (36 eyes) were investigated clinical parameters and histological changes of the eye after suprachoroidal implantation of the polymer "MM-GEL", as drug-releasing implants. In 3th day after introduction of polymer to experimental animals only 3 animals (6 eyes) had the attributes of ill-defined inflammatory reaction from an iris and retinas were marked. Short-term oppression of parameters of a retinogram testified to reaction of a retinal tissue to an operational trauma. Results of histological research testify to absence of toxic action of polymer on internal structures of an eye of experimental animals.
