The essence of social systems’ adaptation in the context of the theory of transient processes

This article deals with the process of social systems’ adaptation as a transition process. The author describes a possibility of application of transition processes theories for a deeper understanding of the essence and evaluation of adaptation level of social systems. It is emphasized, that application of the transition processes conception allows to expand the subject area of adaptation sociology by inclusion of new research problems. The paper reveals the potential of the adaptive management methodology, which may mitigate the consequences of changes in the social systems.
