The author explores the impact of digital innovations on the global economy, focusing on the transformation of procurement practices and financial transactions through the development of e-commerce. He emphasizes that with the advent of the Internet, people were able to make purchases remotely, which radically changed the approach to trading. One of the key aspects is marketplaces - electronic platforms that provide direct interaction between sellers and buyers. Their functions are described, such as the convenience of searching and comparing products, secure payment systems and opportunities to increase the visibility of small and medium-sized businesses. In addition, the author highlights the differences between marketplaces and aggregator sites: the latter do not control the aspects of payment and delivery, but only provide a platform for meetings between the parties to the transaction. Unlike aggregators, marketplaces set strict requirements for their suppliers, which creates reliability and trust among consumers. In conclusion, the text emphasizes the diversity of marketplaces and their importance in the context of e-commerce, indicating their role as a catalyst for growth for companies and new business investments.
