The essence of the rule-of-law state: historical and civilisations approach

The article investigates the sources of essential elements of the rule-of-law state formation. Contributions of the early modern age philosophers (J. Locke, D. Hume and E. Kant) to the theory of rule-of-law state formation are revealed. The necessity of adjusting the state and society correlation with the help of such institutions as “civil society” and “rule-of-law state” is given grounds.
