Sovereignization of the soviet republics during the collapse of the USSR from the perspective of public holidays

The article examines how the processes of sovereignization of the Soviet republics affected the all-union public holidays. The author considers the collapse of the USSR in the context of denial of common national holidays. Development of a new festive calendar by former Soviet republics is reviewed.
