In the article is analyzed and systematized the information of antique and medieval sources about the anomalous natural phenomena, which occurred in the eastern part of the Mediterranean in the antiquity and on the boundary of the middle ages. Among the anomalous natural phenomena, proceeding at sea, serious danger to populating of coastal areas and medium of its inhabiting present the earthquakes and the gigantic tidal waves - tsunami caused by them. The eastern Mediterranean is one of the regions of the increased seismic activity on the planet. In the antiquity in this region occurred several large-scale natural catastrophes, caused by coastal and underwater earthquakes and tsunami. The analysis of the information of Ancient Greek, Roman and medieval sources about such events offers possibility for the systematization and developments of their periodicity in the historical past.
