Information concerning the smelting factory of the Suzunskiy plant in archival documents of the late XVIIIth and the early XXth centuries (adapted from collections of the Russian state archive and the state archive of Altay region)

The article considers research results of sources of the late XVIII th and the early XX th centuries: drawings, plans, reports, which concern functioning special features of the Smelting Factory of the Suzunskiy Copper Plant, they were found out from the collections of the Russian State Historical Archive of Saint-Petersburg (RGIA) and the State Archive of Altay Region, Barnaul (GAAK). Research of different aspects of history of town Suzun in Novosibirsk Region is necessary because its history scale and significance is evident at both local and regional and All-Russian levels. The Nizhne-Suzunskiy Plant with the mint built in 1764 was one of the largest objects of the Kolyvano-Voskresenskiy plants corporation, which belonged to the imperial family. The plant was built with advanced know-how used in Ural and Altay that time, it had all the characteristics of the leading mining enterprise. There have survived unique objects of industrial heritage in the central part of modern Suzun. They have some special features connected with origin and progress of industrial and plant stage of Russia development in the XVIII th and the XIX th centuries. In 2011 the complex of these objects was given a status of a notable place, there is being founded museum-tourist complex "The Suzun-Plant and the mint". It requires scientific researches on study of archival documents, which give some idea of structures, equipment, technologies and also of social function objects connected with industrial production. Study of the plans and drawings of the Smelting Factory and its machines and mechanisms is conditioned on problems of making an industrial and historical museum within MTK with showing of smelting production technologies of the XIX th century. Archival documents study resulted in getting information concerning specific character of the Smelting Factory working at different periods of time, spatial configuration and architectural features of the building, smelting furnaces, machines and mechanisms, and also concerning incidents and events influenced on production processes and modernization of the Factory. The studied drawings and plans are remarkable for a high quality of performance, clearness, accurate drawing of details, which adds them both an aesthetic value and documentary significance. Thanks to such a quality of the archival documents, their copies can be also used in expositions, interactive excursions and other events for popularization of the Suzunskiy Plant unique history.
