Left displaced abomasum is a widespread multifactorial disease with a hereditary predisposition that occurs mainly in the post-calving period in dairy cows and causes significant economic losses to livestock farming. The aim of the study was to analyze the connection between minor runs of homozygosity and left displaced abomasum in highly productive Holstein cows of the Leningrad Region. The material for the study was results of genotyping of 360 highly productive Holstein cows from three farms of the Leningrad Region. One hundred eighty-five cows had left displaced abomasum in the current lactation. The control group included 175 healthy cows in third lactation and above without history of the disease. Genotyping was performed using high-density DNA chip GeneSeek® Genomic Profiler™ Bovine 100K. Only minor runs of homozygosity with a frequency from 0.15 to 0.3 were included in the analysis.
