The postmodernism as one of the movement of the postmodern epoch strives to comprehend the epoch’s controversies in its own categories. The Russian postmodernism has similarities with the West-European postmodernism, but at the same time, it has its own distinctive characteristics. Such features as epatage, denial of canons, corporality, and pathology prevail in the works of Russian postmodernists. Their creative works focus on overcoming the literature-centrism and absurdity of life by a peculiar and unusual for traditional audience manner. It is associated with their reaction to the crisis of modern culture and their aspiration to retrieve the lost meaning.
