Confrontment between relatives in preliminary inquiry: tactics

Introduction: the article discusses certain issues that an investigator faces when conducting a confrontation between relatives. The author suggests ways to improve the efficiency of the production of this investigative action, contributing to the optimization of work on the criminal case as a whole. Materials and Methods: the empirical basis of the study was judicial and investigative practice. The methodological basis of the study was the dialectical method of cognition, the method of analysis, observation and statistics. Results: in the course of the study, the author considers features in confrontment between Relatives with respect to their family ties, for example he expands the tactics of deconfliction in confrontment between spouses and the preparation and planning of the investigative procedure. The author pays the readers’ attention at the need of additional inquiry before the confrontment, preparation for the presentation of evidence, and technical facilities for confrontment using video surveillance systems. Discussions and Conclusions: based on the conducted study, a list of tactical techniques is proposed that are necessary to resolve problematic situations that develop during the production of a confrontation between relatives.
