The custom service of Prebaikalye

The article deals with the function of forts set in Prebaikalye. The forts performed the Custom’s service. They were in the border area.Due to building new forts near the border, these functions were delegated to them. Idinsky fort was one of them, it was built on the site of crossing the Angara River, known as «the Mongolian transportation» as the Mongolian troops, having passed it, went further to the Prebaikal area. The article considers the Custom’s legal status in the new territories, as well as it shows the main caravan routes.
