Customs tariff regulation as a tool for development of import substitution in the Russian Federation

This article discusses government regulation in the context of import substitution policies, in particular, the role of customs tariff regulation as an instrument for the development of import substitution. The article reviews the nature and contents of customs tariff regulation during economic sanctions against Russia. In the current circumstances, methods of customs tariff regulation are most effective in steering foreign economic activities. This is due to the ability of customs tariff regulation to influence the nature of imports and exports in the required directions, to facilitate or hinder the importation and exportation of certain categories of goods.
