The article explores the potential applications of nanocrystalline materials and nanotechnologies in the maintenance and repair of automotive and tractor engines. Nanomaterials are noted for their increased hardness, strength, damping properties, and wear resistance compared to conventional coarse-grained materials. Methods for applying nanocoatings such as plasma, magnetron, vacuum deposition, electroplating, and laser technologies – are presented, enabling the restoration of worn components to a service life comparable to or exceeding that of new parts. Special attention is given to the restoration of precision components in fuel systems, crankshafts, and bearings, as well as to the use of composite heating coatings based on nanodispersed carbon to enhance engine performance under the sharply continental climate of Eastern Siberia.
