The appearance of the Upper Paleolithic industries at the Middle Yenisei basin problem isn't researched enough, and it is necessary to examine it in details. The late karga sites group situated at the Krasnoyarsk reservoir Derbina bay is in the sphere of a special interest. At the present time we can refer the lithic industries of the Derbina VI, V, Ust-Maltat I, II, Pokrovka I, II sites to the one of the earliest upper paleolithic industries in the Middle Yenisei region. This article is devoted to the analysis of the initial splitting technology at the Ust-Maltat II site. The splitting strategy of this industry is based on the blade blanks production from prismatic ores or similar prismatic single-platform cores. According to the combination of prismatic and tubular splitting technologies, with the presence of undeveloped microreduction and archaic splitting methods elements at the same time, it is possible to consider Ust-Maltat II one of the earliest sites discovered at the Middle Yenisei basin. At present time it is possible to connect the Ust-Maltat II industry with the industries of Ust-Karakol type (Gorny Altai) and raise the question about their role in the industry genesis at the Middle Yenisei basin.
