The paper contains technical and technological analysis of Middle and Late Preclassic Maya ceramics originating from excavations at the settlement of Uaxactun in Guatemala. This analysis was carried out by the Institute of Archaeology, RAS, on request of M. Kovac, Director of the Uaxactun Project of the Slovak Archaeological and Historical Institute. The study established that, first, ceramics of each morphological type were not homogeneous in terms of technological traditions, and, second, production techniques of ceramics from various chronological periods had perceptible differences.
