The article is devoted to comprehension of some features of individual victimization in cyberspace . The author concludes that most modern concepts of victimization (making a person a victim of crime) do not fully reflect the trends observed today in virtual environments (the Internet, in particular) . Existing theories focus mainly on the victimization properties of the individual and the understanding of victimization as an interpersonal process . At present, in contrast, cases are being recorded where the direct recipient of victimization is not the physical person, but his or her digital identity (digital self, digital projection), discriminated through the technological attributes of the “extended personality” (devices or software) . In this interpretation, the technological mediation of processes takes on a new meaning, which is one of the most important factors in the realization of cybervictimization . In this article, we propose to discuss the idea of technogenic conditioning of cybervictimization, according to which the transformation of a person into a victim of cybercrime cannot take place without the appropriate conditions of a technical nature, which are crucial to the process .
