Industrial wetlands of Mordovia: the current status of bird fauna and value for rare species of birds

Birds fauna on industrial wetlands of Republic Mordovia have been studied in 1996-2006. It is registered 154 species, from which 6 are brought in to the Red Data Book of Russia, 29 in the Red Data Book of Republic Mordovia. For the first time for region 2 species are found on nesting. Features of distribution in habitat and abundances of birds on different industrial wetlands. Data about value of industrial wetlands as the major places of nesting, migrations and wintering of birds.
