Effectiveness of activities of forest maintenance and forest management, especially silvicultural felling, largely depends on the adequacy (accuracy) of their implementation in practice using certain technologies. According to literary sources and materials of generalization of the historical experience of forestry and forest management, the implementation of thinning and change of forest generations - in the past, felling of the main use on the basis of imperfect mechanized logging operations technologies often led to results that did not correspond to the intended type of selective silvicultural felling and even a complete distortion of the essence these events. In this regard in this work, using the systematic method of forestry, the tasks of establishing the initial principles of technological support for the adequate implementation of forestry activities are solved, taking into account the natural properties and specifics of the intended purpose of forests, including their performance of the functions of deposition and conservation of carbon. This is achieved through the use of methodological provisions for a reasonable choice of types and options for the technological organization of sites - forestry objects and technological processes for maintaining forests and forest management, which make it possible to most accurately implement forestry impacts on forest ecosystems, provided for by the relevant types of measures.
