Technological prospects for sulfide zinc concentrates processing in the Republic of Buryatia

The mineral resource base is characterized by the depletion of large fields with relatively good quality of minerals, that ’s why natural and man-made deposits with a low content of useful components are involved in the processing. Their development was previously considered uneconomic. This article gives the prospects of development of the zinc industry in the Republic of Buryatia. Analysis of the existing methods of pressure leaching of low-grade zinc concentrates and by-products have been made and the most preferred have been selected.
