The article proposes a new approach to library advertising technologies - in the context of sociotechnology and cultural technology. The definitions of the terms "sociotechnology", "cultural technology" and "advertising information technology" are given. Considered technological features of the tools and the most common types of advertising. It is stated that various types of library advertising and complexes of distinctive features and properties, technological features, their niches in society, the specifics of performing social functions.
