The technology of success: election of the president of the Russian Federation in 2004

The article analyzes the activities of V.V. Putin as a president of the Russian Federation in 2000-2004, which allows the author to reveal the factors that determined the subsequent socio-economic development of Russia. The President's actions focused on strengthening of the federal power, business, mass media, the tough stance on the Chechen problem are considered. The author discusses the changes in the party building, continuation of reforms, restoration of the prestige of Russia in the international arena, fight against corruption. The crisis situations are also mentioned: downfall of the submarine "Kursk", taking of hostages. It is concluded, that the victory of Vladimir Putin in the 2004 elections had been predetermined.
