The article is devoted to the use of television programs for organizing role-plays at foreign language lessons at a middle stage of education. It analyzes their advantages as sources of authentic language material and communicative scenarios. The article provides examples of integrating TV program fragments into the learning process and describes ways of creating role-based tasks. It concludes with the practical significance of this method within the framework of the activity-based approach.
