The theme of nature in the lyrical poems of Emily Dickinson and the ideas of transcendentalism (to the question of literary and philosophical influence)

The present article deals with the problem of the influence of transcendentalists' ideas on the lyrics of one of the most famous American poets, Emily Dickinson, on the basis of her poems dealing with the topic of nature. Despite the fact that Emily Dickinson spent a large part of her life leading a solitary life, the impact of the philosophical works reflecting the postulates of transcendentalism, e.g. by H. D. Thoreau and R. W. Emerson, cannot be underestimated. This article draws parallels between such works and Emily Dickinson's lyrics, uncovering a number of similarities and differences.
