Theme parks as one of development directions of tourism in Rostov region

The article considers theme parks as an important direction of tourism development in the Rostov region. Theme parks have both socio-cultural significance and are an impetus for economic growth in the region. Theme parks are diverse in their concepts, but they are united by an entertaining, informative and cognitive character. Such parks can offer tourists a unique, memorable experience in a thematic environment that includes objects of entertainment, history and unique culture. Theme parks, which have turned into a socially significant phenomenon throughout the world, remain, however, poorly studied in Russia. Today, several projects of theme parks have already been implemented in the Rostov region, while they are mainly of regional importance and serve as a place of recreation and entertainment for the population of the region. The following objects on the territory of the Rostov Region are considered: walking park “Loga Log”, ethno-archaeological park “Lost World”, cultural and historical park “Cossack Don”, military-patriotic park “Patriot Park”, memorial park “Sambek Heights”, Rostovsky Zoo, Botanical Garden and Donskoy Natural Park. New theme parks should be more creative and innovative, offer quality and safe entertainment. It is noted that the implementation of projects to create theme parks will raise the entertainment industry in the Rostov region to a new level, attract tourists and give impetus to the development of regional tourism.
