Trends of identification processes of North Caucasus' youth and prospects of national consolidation

The article analyzes identification processes among the younger generation. Identification processes are studied basing on the concept of multilevel identity. Some results of the empirical research of young people of the North Caucasus are presented. Key positions in identification space, along with traditional ethnic identity, are occupied by the Russian national identity. It is considered as a real basis for consolidation of society both on all-Russian, and at regional, local levels. Heterogeneous character of identification space of youth of the North Caucasus is proved. The possibility of managing social and spiritual consolidation through «order parameters», found in the study, is considered. For different ethnic groups it can be confessional, ethnic or local identity.
