Trends in the development of residential mortgage lending in Russia

The article examines current trends in the development of Russian residential mortgage lending. The analysis of the development of residential mortgage lending in the Russian banking sector on a number of criteria: the dynamics of the number of lending institutions in the market of residential mortgage lending, the share of credit institutions participating in the market of residential mortgage lending, the concentration of credit institutions operating in the segment of residential mortgage lending, the volume of residential mortgage lending, indicators of quantitative characteristics of residential mortgage lending, the weighted average interest rate on mortgage lending, the share of overdue debt relative to the total residential mortgage loan indebtedness. The conditions of the main types of residential mortgage lending with state support, which can be obtained by borrowers in modern conditions, were highlighted and summarized. An analysis was carried out of the transformation of the conditions for obtaining a credit under the program of preferential mortgage (State Support 2020). Generalization of existing trends in the segment of residential mortgage lending allowed to identify existing problems, the solution of which will contribute to further state support to stabilize the economic situation.
