In recent years, we have often heard and used the word "creative economy". It represents the embodiment of new, original ideas, a "look into the future", an economic sphere related to intellectual property. The article is devoted to the trends in the development of the creative industry in the field of painting and the problems of its monetization. The topic is the subject of lively discussions. Its research is carried out not only by economists, but also by art historians, cultural scientists, managers. This is explained by the fact that the creative economy plays an important role in the development of both the economic well-being of developed countries and social. Creative industries are considered one of the most promising areas of economic activity in highly developed economies, with great potential for increasing well-being and creating jobs. The research is aimed at identifying methods of monetization of the sphere of art, promotion of a cultural product to the consumer, professional development of the artist in the field of market relations. Monetization of creativity does not mean the transition to making money and copying works. Important for the study is the position that in the art of painting a strict balance must be observed over earning money and creativity. Developing countries are studying the OPT of developed countries in building a promising creative sector. They associate their future with the development of the creative industry. This sphere should become a driver of the economy and meet the needs of the population in all spheres of life. What the creative industry can give is above the physiological needs of society. Positive changes in society, which are achieved through the dissemination of a creative product, are the main result of the development of the creative sector.
