The article examines the trends in the development of the global energy market. It is established that the role and importance of the global energy market will grow. Already, the total mass of the global energy market exceeds a significant amount, and the task facing humanity is to reduce energy consumption, as well as the true contradiction of time. It is necessary to reduce not only the specific share of energy in finished products, but also the absolute energy content, since now the level of energy load on the environment is too high and leads to significant natural disasters. The real course of events has already convincingly proved that the neglect of a balanced industrial policy, especially in the energy sector, has a significant negative impact on the pace, quality and nature of socio-economic development. These negative manifestations have both a general structural character and may acquire local significance. It is established that the conceptual limitation of state policy solely by monetary guidelines of macroeconomic regulation has led to the decline of the energy sector and other major sectors of the domestic economy that require thorough approaches and flexible policies. It has been proven that the growing demand for energy resources will put too much pressure on the market, where the supply of oil is physically limited.
