This research paper analyzes the trends in the development of foreign trade of the Russian Federation in the context of sanctions restrictions and changes in the directions of commodity flows, which made it possible to identify the main sectors (factors) that have significantly affected the reduction of imports in 2022 - the most technological sectors (machinery and equipment, transport, etc.), while there was no significant pressure on exports, they increased in 2022. The main trends in the development of foreign trade in the current environment are as follows: a possible reduction in exports in 2023; the trade balance may also shrink, almost 2 times in 2023; China, Turkey, India and Kazakhstan will be the main trading partners, while the EU share in trade with Russia will shrink. The relevance of this topic is due to the need to continuously monitor the situation in the development of Russian foreign trade in order to identify new priorities and trends in economic development in conditions of uncertainty.
