Trends in socio-economic development of regions

The article discusses the trends and problems of the socio-economic development of regions, the economy of which is based on manufacturing. Based on the statistics, the contribution of this sector of the economy was assessed, general trends and differences in the level of socio-economic development of the selected group of regions were identified. It is concluded that the economies of the regions are characterized by an inertial development scenario, which is caused, on the one hand, by a lack of investment for modernization and implementation of innovative projects, and, on the other hand, by the low efficiency of using the available financial resources.
