Trends in changing of stratification models in postindustrial society

The article is devoted to topical issues of the modern class division of society, which is undergoing significant changes as a result of the transition from an industrial to a post-industrial type of society for a number of reasons disclosed by the author. The analysis of theoretical material devoted to the issues of the stratification division of societies in various historical periods allows us to identify the main criteria of stratification, their significance in the context of modern social changes, as well as the possibility of their meaningful transformation under the influence of prerequisites that are formed mainly in post-industrial society. The empirical materials used on the prestige of professions confirm the theoretical conclusions. The purpose of this article is to identify the main trends in the change of stratification models in modern post-industrial society, on the basis of which it becomes possible to propose its own seven-component model of class division of society. This model takes into account the prospects of digitalization of public life, while at the same time preserving class elements that have existed steadily in industrial society. The article also raises the issue of strengthening the processes of marginalization as a result of changes taking place in society. The above class structure is not universal, it depends on the historical, cultural and other features of specific countries, and also does not fully reflect the class structure of modern Russian society.
