Trends in designing the functional architecture of recommender systems

This article provides a definition for recommender systems, analyzes reasons for designing recommender systems, highlights and explains the main stages of functional architecture of recommender systems. An example of architecture of an already implemented recommender system is examined. Examples of other recommender systems are given. The conclusion is made about the presented functional architecture being consistent throughout all recommender systems.
