Theoretical aspects of political identity investigation

The paper deals with the basic approaches to the political identity analysis. Main components of political identity are pointed out. The relevance of political traditions and interests in the process of forming a regional identity is revealed and examined. The influence of political elite on the development of regional political ideology and myth-creation is studied.
