Theoretical aspects of the research concerned with growth areas of the regional economy

As a theoretical approach to the issues of regional development the authors apply an institutional approach evaluating the influence of certain social institutions on competitiveness improvement in the region. Formal institutions, including the constitution, legal system, laws, along with informal institutions (traditions, values, customs) impact on the regional development, and are organized by the power structures. A large number of disagreements cause the specificity of institutional structure in Russia.
