Theoretical aspects of hazard areas of mechanization mobile means of agro-industrial complex when starting the engine with the engaged gear

In the article it is provided an analysis of situations associated with injuries to operators and persons operating and servicing mobile agricultural units in the case of starting their engines when the transmission is engaged in the transmission. Technological processes in the sub-sectors of agricultural production (crop production, animal husbandry, poultry farming, horticulture, transport, harvesting and other works) are characterized by frequent stoppages of units for various reasons of technolo-gical, technical, anthropogenic and other factors. Stops are often accompanied by engine shutdown (in order to save fuel or malfunction of engine elements or other components of the unit) for the period of elimination of failures. At the same time, in the parking lot, the operator turns on any gear in order to fix the unit (especially in cases of uneven terrain of roads or fields). After eliminating the failures, forgetting about the engaged gear, the operators start with the help of starting motors or electric starters of the diesel engine. This essentially automatically begins the uncontrolled movement of the unit and injury to the operator himself (if he is not in the cab, but between the wheels, on the tractor track or next to it) and the people servicing the unit. The theoretical positions of situations are considered, an analytical definition of traumatic zones is given in case of uncontrolled movement of the unit in any possible direction with closed and open cab doors of wheeled and tracked tractors for various purposes. It is noted that the main reason for the situations described is that they are not equipped with safety locks for starting engines when the gear is engaged in the transmission. This discrepancy contradicts the requirements of the Occupational Safety Stan-dards System (OSSS) and needs to be promptly eliminated on the innovative basis proposed in the article.
