Theoretical and practical aspects of forest use zoning in densely wooded regions of the Russian Federation

The article addresses theoretical and practical aspects of introducing forest use payment rates zoning in densely wooded regions of the Russian Federation and offers an approach to improve the methodological toolkit for forest tax zoning with regard to such characteristics as woodiness, type of forest use and lumber haul distance. An assessment of the existing scheme for determining the categories of dachshunds has been carried out and a promising network of forest tax districts in the multi-forest regions of the Russian Federation has been proposed. It is proposed to expand the existing range of tax rates to a distance of 200 km. The calculation of the theoretical area of the Lesotaxy district has been carried out.
