The article covers the bases of administrative-and-legal regulation in the energy sector at the present stage; principles of administrative-and-legal regulation and organization of environment protection activity in the energy sector as one of the economy sectors are considered. The problem of energy management by the state and mechanisms of market self-regulation are considered as well. Energy market regulation is seen as a special kind of state regulation of the economy. The author also notes the specific features of the legal regulation system confirming the complex nature of the rules governing the energy sector.
