Theoretical foundations of studying the level and quality of life of the population

The level and quality of life of the population are an integral characteristic of the economic development of the country, its stability and sustainability. Recently, the concept of "standard of living" is often found in various legal documents, and raising the standard of living is proclaimed the goal of the country's socio-economic development. In this paper, the concepts of "level" and "quality of life" are investigated, their similarities and differences are determined, the main approaches to assessing these categories that exist in the world are studied, indicators and their components, methodology are studied, some advantages and disadvantages are identified.
