The article considers the prerequisites for the development of theoretical and methodological foundations for the investigation of crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity. The main factors that negatively affect the effectiveness of the investigation of crimes in this category are reflected. Based on the results of a study conducted by the author of the article, the theoretical and methodological foundations of the investigation of crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity are presented. A classification of crimes and models of criminal activity in the field of entrepreneurship is proposed. The definition of the general provisions of the methodology for investigating crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity is formulated and their place in the system of forensic methods is shown. The regularities underlying them are listed: the mechanism for preparing, committing and concealing crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity; reflection of forensically significant information resulting from the commission of crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity; the activities of the bodies of preliminary investigation and inquiry in the investigation of crimes of the category in question. The requirements for the development of forensic methods of a high degree of generality are presented and an approximate structure and content of the general provisions of the methodology for investigating crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity are given. In conclusion, the key directions for using the theoretical and methodological foundations of investigating crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity are identified.
