Z. Freud’s theory of Oedipus complex in the context of personal meanings and experience of circumcision rite

The article analyzes the influence of cultural and historical circumcision ceremony on the formation of Z. Freud’s theory of Oedipus complex. The author considers views of the national researchers, shows relevance of the psychological and spiritual features of the rite, and substantiates a hypothesis of determining value of the circumcision factor in creation of the psychoanalytic theory.
