On the basis of а competence-based approach a method of enriching the content of the discipline «Theory of physiology and sports» was provided with new scientific knowledge about the heart pump function, obtained by the authors on the basis of the theory of pumps.The authors have established a previously unknown mechanism of a heart pump function, carried out by the fifth air cardiac chamber that is pericardial cavity.
